Philadelphia is back in the forefront of the rap game, due to the efforts of Meek Mill, leading to more artists from the area gaining success. Over the past year, Meek Mill has become one of the biggest artists in he game. Rick Ross added him to Maybach Music early last year and Meek Mill has since become a major star.
Cassidy emerged years before Meek Mill, signing with Swizz Beatz’ Full Surface label ten years ago. Much like Meek Mill, Cassidy experienced immediate success, dominating from 2003 until 2005. In the time since then, Cassidy has posted one hit and has found most of his success on the mixtape level.
Recently, Cassidy’s posts on Twitter caught the attention of Meek Mill, who already battled Philadelphia pastor, Jomo Johnson, who called him out over his lyrics. Cassidy retweed many fans who felt Meek Mill was not doing enough for Philadelphia hip hop. Upon reading the tweets, Meek Mill made some posts calling Cassidy out, which he removed. Cassidy recently spoke to BET and he revealed he and Meek Mill spoke, thus resolving their issues.
