Carmelo Anthony is back, so says NBA Twitter after he hits the game winner against the Toronto Raptors; Fans offer up an apology after calling him washed and thinking he was done

For anyone who wrote off Carmelo Anthony, I present to you his performance tonight against the Toronto Raptors. Let’s first take a look at the recent journey Carmelo’s been on the past couple of years. Carmelo Anthony has been one of the best scorers in the NBA since his days on the Nuggets. He’s never gone to the big dance, but still has been one of the beloved and scrutinized players in recent memory. When he got released from the Houston Rockets, everyone within the NBA were left puzzled as to how a perennial player like Melo was out on the sidelines for so long.

There was a dark cloud over Carmelo until this past November when the Portland Trailblazers signed him to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal. since then Melo has been reminding folks who he is. Pundits and critics in the media especially have been giving Melo a hard, Max Kellerman in particular. Many have written him off and dubbed him as washed in today’s new NBA. However after hitting the game winner against the Raptors tonight, it appears the Carmelo has silenced many of the naysayers and critics. He finished off the night with 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals. NBA twitter has been singing his praises, along with offering up an apology for all of the slander.
