Cardi B’s ‘Invasion of Privacy’ is Now The First Debut Album By a Female Rapper To Spend Two Years in a Row on The Billboard 200 Chart

On April 6 of 2018, Cardi B released her highly anticipated debut album, ‘Invasion of Privacy.’ The former ‘Love and Hip-Hop‘ star had built plenty of momentum for this release as she had an epic 2017 with the success of her breakout hit single, “Bodak Yellow” and followed it up with “Be Careful” and “Bartier Cardi” featuring 21 Savage. Plenty more hits emerged from Invasion of Privacy as well such as “I Like It” featuring J. Balvin and Bad Bunny and “Ring” feat. Kehlani.

Since Invasion of Privacy dropped, it’s broken plenty of records such as being the first debut album by a female rapper to spend 100 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 chart and passed Lauryn Hill’s ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ as the longest-charting debut album by a female rapper in 200 history. Now, we can add another impressive accomplishment to this list.

April 6 is the 2-year anniversary of Invasion of Privacy and this also makes two years in a row that it’s been on the Billboard 200 chart, according to Chart Data. Cardi’s been able to build a very loyal fan base since her LHH days and the support she’s received regarding her music has been incredible. This project has also been certified 3x platinum by the RIAA.

Cardi had a solid 2019 as well with the success of her singles “Press” and “Please Me” featuring Bruno Mars. She also appeared on her husband Offset’s smash hit single, “Clout.” She’s expected to release her sophomore album sometime this year.
