Cardi B’s 2020 Chart-Topping “WAP” Single, Featuring Megan Thee Stallion, Reaches 1 Billion Streams

Over a year ago, Cardi B had the internet going wild again, after releasing another hit single. This was “WAP,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion. This record went on to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and even drew some criticism for its high sexual content.

WAP is currently 3x platinum in the US and now, has reached another huge milestone. This is that it has surpassed 1 billion on-demand streams in the US, according to Chart Data.

WAP is also expected to appear on Cardi’s sophomore album. She teased the release of this project earlier this year, there is no end in sight, regarding a title and release. Whenever the album does arrive though, it will likely be Cardi’s second consecutive number one album.

WAP is also beginning to be nominated at a number of award shows, starring with the VMAs, next month. It’s nominated for four awards there, in total.
