Cardi B’s 2017 Breakout Hit Single, “Bodak Yellow,” Hits 1 Billion YouTube Views For Its Music Video, Becomes Fastest Solo Female Rap Song in History To Do This

Cardi B has been on fire ever since 2017, with the released of her breakout single, “Bodak Yellow.” She’s had five number one songs in total, and even a Grammy award. Bodak Yellow remains her biggest and most popular hit to date, though.

In the spring, Bodak Yellow hit a diamond certification by the RIAA, which was the first female rap song to do this. Now, it has hit another impressive accomplishment. The music video for Bodak Yellow is now at 1 billion YouTube views, which makes it the fastest solo female rap song in history, to reach this mark. The video was originally released on June 24, 2017.

Bodak Yellow went on to appear on Cardi’s 2018 debut studio album, “Invasion of Privacy.” That debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, and is 3x platinum in the US. It went on to win the Grammy for Best Rap Album at the 2019 GRAMMYs.

Cardi hasn’t publicly spoken on this milestone yet, but is definitely probably celebrating as we speak. She also reached her fifth number one single this year, with “Up,” which dropped in February, and hit number one in March.
