Ultimately, Cardi B has come in the game, and done what no other female rapper has been able to do. There was a void that no other artist, male or female, was able to fill that she did. At the same time, none of this takes away from Nicki Minaj and what she does.

Nicki Minaj has proven her staying power, with her QUEEN album release. Not every artist can come back so strong after being out of the spotlight for four years. Even with the competition from Cardi B, Nicki still did her thing.

In her interview rounds, Nicki Minaj was vocal, and she made some serious implications. The fans echoed this and went at Cardi directly, knowing they would get a response. Putting a fan in her place, Cardi B explained that she signed to Atlantic Records and immediately dropped “Lick,” with Offset, which didn’t connect, and she had to go back to the drawing board, as it was months before “Bodak Yellow” dropped.
