Today, Cardi B’s 2017 breakout hit, “Bodak Yellow,” was officially certified diamond by the RIAA in the US. It also became the fist female rap song to reach this accomplishment. This was the record that helped Cardi turn into the star she is today as every release since then has won big.

Now, Cardi has just taken to her Instagram feed to explain how appreciative she is for this moment. She explained how she didn’t even know what a diamond certification was before and that with Bodak Yellow, she just wanted to see that breakthrough in her career.

The posts included in Cardi’s feed were her dancing to Bodak Yellow in 2017, her receiving other plaques for the song, and now the official diamond certification news online.

“How it started ,How’s its going .Thank you every1 that send me beautiful congrats on Bodak going Diamond.
