What Cardi B did, and how she came into the game, is an unorthodox path. However, she wasn’t the first to do it, but she was the best to do it. Only one album in, Cardi B has remained top five, in terms of popularity, for four years.
Cardi B, every time she drops, breaks the internet. Because of this, she is heavily criticized, initially for being a one hit wonder. Later, accused of not being able to carry her own hit, until “Be Careful” dropped.
Recently, Cardi B faced criticism of not being able to make a hit, outside of the ones associated with Invasion of Privacy. She disproved that, with “WAP,” but the Megan Thee Stallion feature lent credence to needing features. Now, Cardi B has shut that down, doing 1 million views in the first hour, with the “Up” music video, and 3.2 million views in only eleven hours, proving she really does this.
