Cardi B becomes first female rapper, to have four songs reach 1 billion streams each, in Spotify history

Cardi B becomes first rapper with four songs of 1 billion streams each

2022 is the year that fans hope that Cardi B finally delivers her sophomore album. It’s been almost four years since the chart-topping and Grammy-winning “Invasion Of Privacy” project was released. In 2021, Cardi did release a new single in “Up,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In the meantime though, Cardi is definitely still breaking streaming records, as the anticipation for new music continues to grow.

According to Chart Data, Cardi now the first female rapper to have four songs reach 1 billion streams each in Spotify history. This comes after “WAP,” ft. Megan Thee Stallion, just reached this mark. That became the first female collaboration to reach that mark. The other records that hit 1 billion streams for Cardi are Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You,” her “I Like It” single ft. J Balvin and Bad Bunny, and DJ Snake’s “Taki Taki,” which also included Selena Gomez and Ozuna.

Cardi also scored a major legal victory last month, as YouTube blogger Tasha K was ordered to pay Cardi $4 million. This came as a result of Cardi filing the lawsuit in 2019, after Tasha made false claims, such as Cardi being a prostitute, and having STIs. Cardi has since received massive support online, while Tasha continues to claim that she cannot pay the $4 million.
