Cardi B Announces That She Will Be Hosting 2021 American Music Awards, on November 21 [VIDEO]

Cardi B continues to be one of the biggest names in music, along with one of the most marketable. Now, the “Up” rapper has officially confirmed that she will be hosting the upcoming 2021 American Music Awards. These will air on November 21, at 8PM ET.

Cardi is also nominated in three AMAs categories. These are Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Song, Video of the Year, and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Female Artist. The song that’s nominated for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Song and Video of the Year, is “Up.” Up initially debuted at number two, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, in February. In March, it went on to top the Hot 100.

Cardi’s hosting gig also becomes the fifth straight year, that a Black female celebrity, will host the AMAs. The previous ones were Tracee Ellis Ross, from 2017-2018, Ciara in 2019, and Taraji P. Henson, in 2020.

Olivia Rodrigo leads the way with the most 2021 AMAs nominations, with seven. The Weeknd is second, with six. There is also a three way tie with five, between Doja Cat, Giveon, and Bad Bunny.
