The ongoing coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) continues to impact families, hard, especially here in the United States. Many people are losing their jobs after various business have temporarily closed due to fear of the spread of the virus. Last week, 6.6 million people filed for unemployment. Life has been far from normal over the past month as sporting events, concerts, movie theaters malls, and dining in at restaurants have all been put on hold.
Cardi B continues to be one of the most popular artists in the world and is now using her platform to help those impacted by the pandemic. She took to her Instagram feed this afternoon to announce that she and Fashion Nova are giving $1,000 per hour to families hit hard by these times. The Fashion Nova Cares Initiative will be giving out these funds through May 20 as they are planning to donate $1 million.
“People are struggling to pay rent, buy food, medicine and other essentials for themselves and their families,” said Richard Saghian, founder and CEO of Fashion Nova. (Via TMZ) “We all feel compassion and concern for those affected by the Coronavirus. Fashion Nova Cares with Cardi B will provide people with necessary relief to help them get through this crisis. As a community-driven brand, we are inspired by the kindness and generosity of others and we wanted to do our part to help those in need.”
Cardi also noted that she wanted to participate in this good deed as she knows that people are having trouble paying bills, feeding families, and taking care of essential needs. People can get their situations out to Cardi and Fashion Nova at www.FashionNova.com/Cares. She also added that users’ Instagram pages need to be private so they can be looked at. Cardi also emphasized that people should not hesitate to reach out for help to them. Big salute to Cardi and Fashion Nova on doing their best to make positive differences in the lives of people who need help during these crazy times. She also recently donated 20,000 meal supplements to doctors in New York City.
