In 2021, Cardi B continues to dominate, as being one of the biggest artists in the world. In March, she received her third number one hit single, with “Up.” It initially debuted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in February, but kept gainin momentum, and hit that top spot a month later.
Cardi’s music has had a strong hold on the industry in general this year, as her streams continue to impress. According to Chart Data, she has already surpassed 1 billion on-demand streams in the US so far, in 2021.
Last week, Cardi also dominated social media, as she appeared on Normani’s new “Wild Side” single. The video for it was released the same night, as Cardi was pregnant in the visuals, and couldn’t do all the stunts that she usually does in music videos. Nonetheless, Wild Side is already becoming one of the biggest songs in the world.
Cardi’s sophomore album is also expected to be released at some point this year. She has yet to publicly reveal an official title or date. Earlier this year, she told Jimmy Fallon that she had a few more songs and music videos to complete.
