Last week, Cap1 dropped his new mixtape, Caviar Dreams, and he went to New York and did hit interview rounds. Anyone who knows hip hop knows this means doing interviews with Sway. First, Cap1 stopped by Shade 45 to talk to him over at “Sway in the Morning,” but he also joined 2 Chainz at MTV for “RapFix Live.”
This is a long way from where Cap1 started back in the late 1990s. During his original come up, Cap1 was working with Kanye West, among other future stars. His longstanding loyalty to 2 Chainz paid off in 2011, when his career took off and it has since helped him gain a new fan base.
Cap1 talked to Sway about this on Shade 45 and he also talked about being a ghostwriter and being the first rapper signed to Motown. He reflected on his background in Chicago and about how he helped some of the biggest rappers in the game get established. Before getting out of the studio, Cap1 freestyled over Young Thug’s “Stoner.”
