California Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested For Allegedly Sleeping With 16-Year-Old Boy

By Prince Hakeem

A Sacramento County sheriff is in the news for allegedly having sex with an under age boy.

Sheriff’s Deputy Shauna Bishop is a five year veteran of the Sacramento Police Department. She was recently put on paid leave last month as investigators were looking into the case. The Folsom Police Department was the agency leading the investigation. When the accusations were confirmed, a warrant for her arrest was issued by the Folsom Police Department. Bishop ended turning herself in that same Thursday on suspicion of having sex with a minor. She was booked and later released that same day.

The 44-year-old officer is facing five felony charges which include one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, one count of child molestation and three counts of oral copulation with a minor. Her arraignment is scheduled for next Thursday.

According to the investigating department, authorities found evidence indicating Bishop had sexual intercourse with the 16-year-old boy. In their statement, authorities pointed out that she did not make first contact with the teenager through her job as a sheriff’s deputy. Also all of the alleged sexual acts took place when she off-duty. This alleged victim was someone she knew from her personal life. Bishop reportedly volunteered with the Sheriff’s Activities League, where she worked with at-risk children and teenagers. Investigators do not believe there are other victims.
