Usually, art imitates life, but there are plenty of instances when life imitates art. This happened to be the case when it came to a Brooklyn ice cream man. Anyone who listens to hip hop music knows ice cream is a code word at times, Master P left it to interpretation on his record, “Ice Cream Man.”

Those who play Grand Theft Auto should be familiar with Vice City when the drug-dealing protagonist took over a drug ring that pushed drugs through ice cream trucks. It is possible that Mina Gatas was inspired by this with his drug ring. The twenty-year-old ice cream man was selling cocaine and oxycodone through his truck.

The New York Times reported Mina Gatas was caught on surveillance selling drugs through his ice cream truck. He was selling drugs, at one point 13 grams of cocaine, right near children who were buying ice cream. Mina Gatas is currently in jail and is being held on $100,000 bail.
