Brian Tyree Henry Says He and “Atlanta” Cast Members Always Stayed in Touch Despite Not Filming Together in Three Years [VIDEO]

Fans have anxiously been waiting for “Atlanta” on FX to return as season 2 concluded back in May 2018. There’s been various delays in filming for season 3 but the plan was to start doing so at the top of 2021 and that’s what’s happened. Donald Glover and the cast has recently been filming in the UK as they’re picking up where they left off at the end of season two with Alfred/Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry) having an international tour.

Henry also recently appeared on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and revealed that he and the cast have consistently stayed in touch despite their very busy schedules. He added that this is the case even while tending to their other business ventures.

“You know, we haven’t shot together in almost three years, so all of us have gone and branched off and done our own things, but we’ve always stayed in touch,” Henry said. “Like nonstop, we check in on one another. But to finally be back together, and to be back in the shoes of these characters, is just completely— it’s like a weird ‘Twilight Zone’ episode, because you’re like, ‘Do I still remember what Alfred went through?’ You’re just finding it out together.”

In a recent voice note on Twitter, Glover also said that the first episode of season 3 will likely arrive at the beginning of 2022. Henry has been making other film appearances such as “Joker,” “Godzilla vs Kong,” and “The Woman in The Window.” Atlanta has without a doubt been regarded as his most popular project of his career, though.
