The year of 2019 has been one where many themes of the decade finally came into their own. One, in particular, has come to life, and that is Black women embracing themselves. With racism at a generational high, the fight is now led with positiveness.
Continuing this trend is a literal Twitter trending topic. After a huge, controversial, story, where Black women were seemingly marginalized by a sports star, this trend takes over. Even though men are also participating, it’s the #blackhairchallenge.
Twitter is now beginning to be taken over by women offering snapshots of their hair. They are showing their hair in all the different styles in which they can put them in. This challenge is one that has everyone participating, and tuned into.
