Often, Nicki Minaj is derided for not supporting fellow female rappers. A few years ago, Nicki Minaj was the only prominent female rapper in the game. Every few years, a female rapper would rise, and would be pit against Nicki Minaj.
First, there was Iggy Azalea, but she fizzled after 2014. After that, Remy Ma emerged in 2016. But, Cardi B proved to be the real threat, and a true rival, dominating 2017, and trying to fight her in 2018. This year was to be all about them, but Megan Thee Stallion changed that.
Nicki Minaj gave Megan Thee Stallion a co-sign, but fans overlook that she also co-signed Cardi B, and gave Remy Ma support. But, those two still became rivals, but Nicki collaborated with Megan. That wasn’t good enough for Azealia Banks, who accused Nicki of trying to sabotage Meg, so Nicki responded to her in this IG rant.
