It is Black History Month and companies are coming up with various ideas on how they can celebrate. One in particular is OneUnited Bank, which is black-owned and located in Boston.
The bank announced that for the entire month of February, customers can get their own customized Harriet Tubman debit card. It displays a photo of her but doing the Wakanda salute that was used in the popular Black Panther movie. On the bank’s description of the limited time offer, they applauded Tubman’s contributions to help slaves, the Union Army, and women’s rights.
The Tubman painting on the card is called “The Conquerer” and was created by Adonnis Parker. It’s definitely nice but the Wakanda might’ve been a little too much. Check it out along with Twitter reactions below.
