Biz Markie’s Funeral Reportedly Set To Take Place on August 2, in NYC

A few weeks ago, the world lost a music legend in Biz Markie. He passed away in a Baltimore hospital,  at the age of 57. Markie was reported to have died as a result of complications from diabetes, that he had for over a year.

Now, the official funeral arrangements for Markie have been finalized, according to TMZ. This service will take place on Monday, in New York City. Al Sharpton will be delivering the eulogy.

Celebrities such as Fat Joe, LL Cool J,Papoose, Big Daddy Kane, Al B. Sure! and Leland Robinson will all he in attendance as well. Dapper Dan will also design the suit that Markie will be wearing in his casket.

Monday will feature a private viewing, which will take place from 11AM-1PM. The service will then begin at 1:30PM, and last until 3:30PM. TMZ and BET will be airing it live.

Markie was known most for his career for his breakout 1989 smash hit single, “Just a Friend.” That record peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and is platinum in the US.
