There is a lot of controversy surrounding Birdman and there always is, due to his status in the game. The influence Birdman has had on the game introduced the world to the New Orleans hip hop scene. His influence also led to the Miami hip hop scene re-emerging.
Birdman provided the outlet for many big name artists to emerge. Among the biggest ones have been Lil Wayne and Juvenile. Both have called him out, over the years, for unpaid wages and now Lil Wayne is putting him on blast and fighting to be off the label.
Recently, Birdman faced even more issues and it’s bigger than his relationships with rappers. There was a time when Birdman owed $1.9 million to the government for wages between the December 2014 and February 2015 period. The situation was so tough, Birdman’s assets were threatened to be seized.
