Since 2004, there’s been unspoken tension between Jay-Z and Birdman, for a handful of reasons. In 2013, Jay-Z talked to “The Breakfast Club” about this. According to Jay-Z, their issues come from Lil Wayne wanting to leave Cash Money for Roc-A-Fella.
Definitely, Lil Wayne joining TIDAL, during the summer of 2015, led to friction. Immediately, Birdman’s Cash Money Records launched a lawsuit against TIDAL. However, due to no one following up on the case, it ended up being dismissed.
Now, it looks like Birdman is officially done going against TIDAL. After all, he is a businessman, just like Jay-Z is, and a TIDAL lawsuit is just a way of missing out on money. Birdman was promoting the new record from Young Greatness, “We Rollin,” on Instagram, and it includes a TIDAL link for people to stream.
