No matter how much time passes, when Outkast comes out, they are among the hottest acts in town. In 2011, Andre 3000 had a bit of a resurgence when he was selected to appear on a host of hit singles. Big Boi had his turn in 2012, releasing his sophomore album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors.

Pitted against Game’s Jesus Piece, both Big Boi and Game dealt with disappointing album sales. However, this did not stop Big Boi from having one of the best albums of the entire year in his sophomore effort. Even though nearly six months have passed since Big Boi dropped his album, he is still pushing singles.

Big Boi recently performed at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis and this is where Fuse caught up with him. Currently, Big Boi is preparing “Thom Pettie” as the next single off his album and a video is being shot. During the interview, Big Boi discussed this and his collaborations with Killer Mike, Janelle Monae, and Mumford and Sons.
