Six years have passed since Outkast last released a new album. Based on the Idlewild film, which Andre 3000 was deeply involved with, the two have been on an indefinite hiatus since. The past six years have been troubling for hip hop, with critics saying it has been on an overall decline.

Tired of waiting to release new music, Big Boi signed a solo deal with Def Jam and began releasing solo albums. Big Boi released his sophomore album today and has been making his rounds with the media. “The Combat Jack Show” even allowed Big Boi to take their show over.

During the interview, Big Boi spoke on a myriad of topics. L. A. Reid was a topic of discussion, along with several other topics. Big Boi mentioned his solo career, along with the impact Outkast had on The Notorious B.I.G. Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors is now available.
