Twelve years ago, “106 & Park” was well on its way to becoming hip hop’s top-rated countdown show. “106 & Park” launched on September 11, 2000 and went on to become a major hit. A decade and two years later, “106 & Park” has become a legendary series.

Back in May, the show took a major hit when Terrence J and Rocsi announced they would be departing as co-hosts of the show. Planned to leave in September, a casting call began for new hosts of the show. In 2006, Terrence J and Rocsi were cast to officially replace A.J. Calloway and Free, who left in 2005.

“106 & Park” enjoyed new life with Terrence J and Rocsi hosting the show. Legendary moments ensued, as Nas and Jay-Z performed together. However, arguably, the most-legendary moment came when Terrence J and Rocsi interviewed A.J. Calloway and Free.

Earlier tonight, devastating news for “106 & Park” fans broke when Global Grind revealed the show had been cancelled. Even more shocking is that the final episode is set to end this Friday on September 21.
