As NBA scouting went on, it became abundantly clear Ben Simmons would be the first overall pick. Throughout the NBA season, it was clear either the Philadelphia 76ers or the Los Angeles Lakers would get the top draft pick. Clearly, they were the NBA’s worst two teams.
The Sixers, in fact, posted the second-worst record in NBA history, this past season. Not counting the Charlotte Bobcats’ lockout-shortened 7-59 record, the Sixers own the worst record in league history. Fortunes changed tonight, however.
