Baby Keem’s “Family Ties” single with Kendrick Lamar goes platinum

In 2021, Baby Keem went on to be one of the biggest breakout artists of the year. In the fall, his “Family Ties” single was released, which featured his cousin, Kendrick Lamar. The 21-year-old is signed to Lamar’s PgLang record label. Earlier that year, Keem was also buzzing with his “Durag Activity” single, ft. Travis Scott.

Family Ties went on to peak at number 18, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Now, it’s reached a new milestone, for Keem. According to Chart Data, it is now certified platinum in the United States. This is after selling over 1 million units.

Family Ties also appeared on Keem’s 2021 debut studio album, “The Melodic Blue.” This project contained 19 songs, with additional appearances from Don Toliver and Brent Faiyaz. The Melodic Blue went on to debut at number five, on the Billboard 200 chart.

Keem is also venturing on the spring edition of his “The Melodic Blue Tour.” These concerts will kick off in Cincinnati, on March 7, and conclude in Indio, CA, on April 22, during Coachella weekend. Keem had a fall Melodic Blue Tour as well, which was highly successful.

Keem is also nominated for three GRAMMYs, at the upcoming April ceremony, in Las Vegas. He is in the categories of Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best New Artist.
