The year of 2011 has been known for the number of collaborative albums between rappers and their right hand men. In 2010, while Lil Wayne was in prison, Drake announced the two rappers would unite for a full-length album together. Months later, Jay-Z and Kanye West announced they would release a collaborative album.

Following the success of Watch the Throne, Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame, along with several other rap duos, came out with joint albums. All of this took place while T.I. was still behind bars. While T.I. had served time, in 2010, B.o.B. kept the entire Grand Hustle movement alive with his music.

When the fall season arrived, B.o.B. began making his promotional rounds. During the summer, he appeared on T.I.’s promotional single, “We Don’t Get Down Like Y’all.” A few days ago, there was an announcement of a collaborative album taking place between T.I. and B.o.B. Currently, both rappers are working on new albums, which will be released in the first quarter of 2012.

B.o.B. confirmed the release of the collaborative album with T.I., saying it would be called The Man, The Martian. He said the two are doing the album just to have some fun. B.o.B. revealed the two had been discussing doing a joint album for some time and decided to make it happen when T.I. was released from prison. With several tracks slated for the album, B.o.B. revealed he was already a few tracks deep.

Now, with T.I. being out, B.o.B. feels they have the proper time to record the album and properly release it.
