The fall of 2016 began with the introduction of “Atlanta,” the long-discussed series created by and starring Donald Glover. In the hip hop world, Childish Gambino is his rap alias. When the series premiered, it was met with rave reviews.
“Atlanta” has led to Brian Tyree Henry and LaKeith Stanfield becoming stars in their own right. Due to their heavy workloads, getting the cast back to film a season is troublesome. Season two was delayed, because of Glover booking a film.
Despite being renewed for a third season, “Atlanta” never announced a premiere date, because of scheduling. But, FX has decided to renew the show for a fourth season. This renewal means the third and fourth season will be film in unison to ensure no more hiatuses that last for over a year.
