No new artist has ever had the kind of impact Ashanti did, when she first came out. Definitely, it helped to be working alongside Ja Rule, in his prime, when he and Jennifer Lopez began working together. In a matter of months, life changed for Ashanti, at a young age.
Ashanti quickly established herself as a force in the game. At only twenty one, Ashanti became the biggest name in R&B, making everyone take notice. Of course, situations with her record label caused major changes, leading to her losing that position, she’s still a legend.
This morning, Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks had Ashanti on the latest episode of “Everyday Struggle.” She confronted those two about their comments on the video of her confronting fans throwing money on her. The conversation turned to the Grammys, where she showed SZA love, and then she spoke on Irv Gotti, Ja Rule, and Murder Inc.
