Throughout the month of May, 50 Cent has been one of the most-discussed figures in hip hop. For a change, this discussion stems from his own musical efforts, as opposed to his opinions about others. As he continues to wait for the release of his album, 50 Cent teamed up with DJ Drama, releasing his long-awaited Gangsta Grillz mixtape.

The Lost Tape has brought about the return of the “old 50” in the eyes of many. Most importantly, it has rebuilt 50 Cent’s status as a rapper. 50 Cent made one thing clear ten years ago, he was not going anywhere. The G-Unit honcho has added a number of businesses to his portfolio, but his popularity has waned, as a rapper.

50 Cent is rebuilding this, preparing collaborations with Wiz Khalifa and Young Jeezy. Still making his media rounds in promotion of The Lost Tape, 50 Cent spoke with DJ Drama on Shade 45 about the project and his upcoming work. 50 Cent also spoke on the remix of 2 Chainz’ “Riot,” along with the Floyd Mayweather right and Justin Bieber.
