Apparently, 50 Cent has regained faith in the people at Interscope Records. Last week, 50 Cent revealed he had lost all faith in Interscope Records and he would not be promoting his next album released on the label. When his album was not released in 2011, 50 Cent delivered fans his The Big 10 project. It was with this independent release where 50 Cent proved he could still produce solid numbers.
Despite still being a heavyweight within the rap game, 50 Cent has endured his fair share of struggle over the past few years. Since 2007, 50 Cent has watched as his record sales have constantly dwindled. It was in 2007 when 50 Cent first called out Interscope Records, saying they did nothing for his project. However, after the low sales of his Before I Self Destruct, 50 announced he would be looking for a new label home.
Still owing Interscope Records one more album, 50 Cent has to put together a project and release it in order to sign elsewhere. In 2010, 50 Cent announced he had a new album in the works, called Black Magic. The concept of the album changed several times and soon the album was shelved. Last year, 50 Cent began working on another album, but it was met with many delays. 50 Cent also has several business ventures to focus on, aside from his music career and he released The Big 10 to accomodate fans.
The primary reason 50 Cent posted his Twitter rant about Interscope Records was because he felt they leaked his new music. But, 50 Cent discovered a computer glitch caused the music to leak. Despite all the things he has said about Jimmy Iovine, 50 Cent said he does not want things to ever get bad between he and the Interscope CEO. 50 Cent revealed Iovine has been like a mentor to him and he wants to keep the friendship regardless of his music ever being released.
