One reason 50 Cent was so popular is because he brought hardcore hip hop back to the forefront of the game. His rise came when Ja Rule was on top of the music world. Already holding a grudge against Ja Rule, a former hardcore rapper gone pop, 50 Cent used this to his advantage.
However, Ja Rule made a comeback and he utilized some alliances he had. In his 2004 comeback, Ja Rule teamed up with Jadakiss, who had both Styles P and Sheek Louch in their “New York” video. This angered 50 Cent and he took on The L.O.X., eventually mending fences in 2009.
Since 2009, 50 Cent has remained on good terms with The L.O.X., often collaborating with Jadakiss. Recently, The L.O.X.’s Sheek Louch experienced the worst kid of loss, the death of his mother, something 50 Cent can relate to. Upon hearing the news, 50 shared his condolences with his former rival via Instagram.
