Ten years ago, 50 Cent completed his run as a mixtape rapper and did the impossible when he sold 13 million worldwide records. Get Rich or Die Tryin’ was billed as a classic album in the eyes of most. Releasing this album, 50 Cent dethroned the biggest rapper in the game, at the time, Ja Rule.

Unseating one of the biggest rappers in the game, ever, 50 Cent became one of the most-confident emcees in history. Initially compared to the likes of Tupac Shakur, among others, 50 Cent emerged as a legend in his own right. Quickly, 50 Cent watched his album sales plummet, but his net worth skyrocketed, in a recession.

50 Cent has countless reasons to be happy and confident in himself. Critics can say what they will about his music, he still holds the record for the highest-selling debut rap album of all-time. Recently, 50 Cent got on Twitter and he confidently said he was one of the top five rappers in the game, dead or alive.
