Repeatedly, 50 Cent has stated Eminem is the only person he owes. Ten years ago, 50 Cent settled into his position as a popular street rapper. 50 Cent flooded the streets with his mixtapes and street albums. As an independent artist, 50 Cent found himself doing fairly well.

Motivated by a beef with hip hop’s biggest figure, Ja Rule, 50 Cent aimed to destroy all of his competition. Eminem heard one of 50 Cent’s street albums, Guess Who’s Back, and called a meeting with the Queens emcee. The meeting went well and 50 Cent signed a $1 million deal with Interscope Records.

A decade has gone by and the world watched 50 Cent clash with group-mates, executives, and even Interscope. Along the way, he amassed more money than most will ever see. During the video shoot for his “My Life” single, featuring Adam Levine and Eminem, 50 Cent spoke on doing a joint album with Slim Shady.
