2Pac Receives More Platinum Certifications From RIAA; Songs Include “Keep Ya Head Up,” “Dear Mama,” and More

2Pac is regarded by many as the greatest rapper of all-time. For other hip-hop heads, he’s at least in their top five. This week, the legend’s estate received more platinum certifications by the RIAA and they are for some fan-favorite classics that were very popular in the 1990s.

“Keep Ya Head Up” and “I Get Around” featuring Digital Underground. were two songs to finally hit platinum status. “Dear Mama,” which is another passionate record by Pac, hit 3x platinum. Both “Keep Ya Head Up” and “I Get Around” appeared on Pac’s second studio album, “Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z..” “Dear Mama” appeared on the third studio album, “Me Against The World.”

Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z went on to debut at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 chart and is platinum in the US. Me Against The World debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and is also 2x platinum. A week ago also marked the 20-year anniversary of Pac’s posthumous “Until The End Of Time” album as well.
