It is difficult to place 2 Chainz into any category. For the longest time, he was Tity Boi, one half of DTP’s Playaz Circle. Written off as a stereotypical Southern rapper, 2 Chainz reinvented himself last year. This reinvention led to partnerships with both Def Jam and Kanye West.
Over a year, 2 Chainz has been doing what he does best and has released several hit singles. Along the way, 2 Chainz also stepped out of his perceived comfort zone when he worked with Justin Bieber. Going forward, 2 Chainz plans to do more collaborations outside of the box.
Surprisingly, 2 Chainz will now be venturing into Dubstep. PSY, of “Gangnam Style” fame, along with Diplo, will be working with 2 Chainz. The collaboration caught many off guard, but is highly anticipated. Many of these unexpected collaborations are well-received.
