Last year was incredible for Tity Boi, who changed his name to 2 Chainz as he became one of the most-popular rappers in the game. Releasing mixtapes in the Atlanta area and on the internet, it soon became clear 2 Chainz was preparing to be a force. A longtime artist of Ludacris’ Disturbing tha Peace, the veteran emcee learned a lot from Ludacris, who has made a name for himself outside of rap in the business world.
2 Chainz set up his own deal with Def Jam for his label, The Real University. In the midst of making deals, 2 Chainz caught the attention of many major artists. Due to his status with Ludacris, 2 Chainz had connections to many of hip hop’s top stars. However, when his music began taking off, these major artists were more willing to collaborate with 2 Chainz. Releasing an abundance of music paid off for 2 Chainz.
Even though he is already signed, 2 Chainz still has offers on the table. Spending much time with Kanye West, there have been rumors of 2 Chainz signing with G.O.O.D. Music. Now, all of the rumors have been confirmed, as 2 Chainz recently announced his new deal with G.O.O.D. Music, which also has a joint venture deal with Def Jam.
