Following months of rumors, Kanye West revealed 2 Chainz was the latest edition to his growing roster at G.O.O.D. Music. The news was revealed yesterday and the internet has been buzzing in the time since. With all the discussion surrounding 2 Chainz and his new label, the Atlanta rapper had yet to speak on the situation.
Last summer, 2 Chainz, after building an incredible amount of buzz throughout the streets of Atlanta and on a national scale, landed a deal with Def Jam. As much of a businessman as a rapper, 2 Chainz negotiated a joint venture deal to develop artists. A label of his own did not stop 2 Chainz from marketing himself for other labels.
Working closely with Kanye West led many to believe he would eventually sign 2 Chainz and work even closer with him. Though the deal appears to be on the way, 2 Chainz said nothing has been confirmed. However, 2 Chainz is open to signing with Kanye’s label, which is under Def Jam.
