The Cinderella story, which is 2 Chainz’ rise from being one half of Playaz Circle, buried on the roster of Ludacris’ DTP, to being Atlanta’s new hip hop king, is expected to continue. Last summer, 2 Chainz decided to revamp his career and began a massacre, remixing songs, making mixtape songs, and dropping mixtapes. This helped to make 2 Chainz the hottest rapper in the streets.

Already techincally on the roster of Def Jam, 2 Chainz’ mixtape success caught their attention. Def Jam would reach out to 2 Chainz and the two entered a business relationship. Their deal was unlike the traditional record deal, as 2 Chainz was brought in as a partner with Def Jam. 2 Chainz formed his own label, The Real University, which he will use to develop his own artists.

2 Chainz ended his mixtape run with the release of his Based on a T.R.U. Story debut album. Released yesterday, the projections for the album are already in. According to most predictions, 2 Chainz’ debut album will end up selling between 130 and 150,000 copies in its first week.
