XXL debuts Cyber Lab with all female rappers
The women of rap have kept 2023 in their hands all year. With the abundance of new and vibrant talent on the scene, a collaboration moment is past due. For the first time ever, XXL brought together today’s rising female rappers for a stylish freestyle cypher. The XXL Cypher Lab included Latto, Flo Milli, Monaleo, Maiya The Don and Mello Buckzz. Presented by the STARZ original series Power Book III:Raising Kanan , the cypher preimiered on the XXL Youtube page this week.
2023 absolutely belongs to the women of rap and hip-hop. This year alone more than fourteen new female MC’s hit streaming services and went viral. Amongst those in the cypher list, each has proved how incredibly talented and unique they each are. Although Latto isn’t a new artist of 2023, this year she added another platinum milestone to her list. Flo Milli gave an incredible tour this year which featured fellow cypher artist Maiya The Don. While Mello Buckkz continued her viral streak after releasing one of the biggest singles of this year.
Overall, this cypher is historical for many reasons but the main one is the positivity behind supporting fellow music artist. As more talent emerges, it’s important to see genuine connections created. All of the women of the XXL cypher have collaborated previously, which made this performance even more memorable.
