With any niche comes the anticipation of the future. In sports, the sports media are often focused on the next major star. This remains the case in music, as hip hop is still caught up in their search of the next Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur. Five years ago, acclaimed hip hop publication, XXL began their freshmen cover, where they gather several of the hottest rising rappers in the game.

Monster, best-known for their energy drink, launched the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour series, in 2011. Already having strong relationships with the music industry, they saw touring as their next logical step. Hip hop has been a lucrative market for decades and Monster connected the dots, establishing a partnership with XXL. Those who are fans of the artists featured on XXL‘s Freshmen 2012 edition are in luck.

The Freshmen 2012 rappers will be featured on the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour. The tour will take place throughout the spring months of 2012.
