How many more ways are there to say The Notorious B.I.G. is a legend who is dearly missed? “Life ain’t always what it seems to be, words can’t express what you mean to me,” is how Diddy summed it up sixteen years ago. A lot has changed in hip hop, but the game has yet to get over the death of The Notorious B.I.G.
Almost twenty years after the death of The Notorious B.I.G., the hip hop fans who remember him still mourn. Though much has changed since 1997, The Notorious B.I.G. has had a major influence on many of the game’s biggest artists. Even hip hop’s power moguls, Jay-Z and 50 Cent, all are inspired by B.I.G.
Seeing how impacted the hip hop world has been, one can only imagine how those who knew The Notorious feel, especially on this day. During this time, sixteen years ago, they were just learning their son, father, boyfriend, and husband, had been gunned down on the streets of Los Angeles.
