However, there are still more artists rising. Among the rising artists from the New Orleans area is Princess.br /br /Princess is one of the more popular independent rappers on the scene in New Orleans. Outside of rap music, Princess is also the head of her own modeling agency. Princess is close to dominating two entirely different markets all before she turns twenty-five.br /br /Recently, Hip Hop Vibe caught up with Princess for an exclusive interview which can be read entirely below:br /br /strongDid you come up with the Princess nickname on your own, or is it something from your childhood?/strongbr /I’ve been Princess ever since I began cheerleading in high school. The nickname stuck, as it was given to me by my cheerleading coach.br /br /strongWhen did you realize the entertainment business was for you?/strongbr /Right after Hurricane Katrina when I began taking music seriously. Around 2006 when I realized I could make a living through music and turn it into a career.br /br /strongAside from rapping, you also have a roster of models, correct?/strongbr /Right, me and my best friend have our own company called Princess Kut Entertainment. We host events through this company. In order to properly market this company, we needed eye candy, so we recruited models. The models have been a part of the team for three years.br /br /strongDid your cheerleading background help you with the models?/strongbr /Yeah, it helps me with the models, because I know how to prepare for photo-shoots and events. It was pretty much the same way with cheerleading. With females, things can get catty, but preparing gives females a chance to know each other and it has helped tremendously.br /br /strongWhich do you like better, making music or doing modeling?/strongbr /Making music because it is my passion and my first love. Working with the models is something I do in my free time as a hobby.br /br /strongWhat are the comparisons and differences between the two?/strongbr /Making music is full of many different features. But, with the models, it is just working with the models, working on getting the ladies ready. Music is more personal and my passion, but I began taking it seriously five years ago and I have been driven ever since.br /br /strongHow long before you will have music released to the public?/strongbr /Not very long, this summer I am dropping my single. Right now, my team is shopping for beats for more singles. But, over the next three weeks, things will be coming together. Hopefully, within a month, I will have everything ready to go.br /br /strongDo you have many features on your upcoming mixtape?/strongbr /Yeah, I have a few features, I have one with J-Slimm, actually multiple tracks. Big Nick from Exclusive Grind, Dogg Ent., and Tek Mr. Throw Me Back.br /br /strongHow did you meet J-Slimmm?/strongbr /I met J-Slimmm through Anthony Droze and I met Anthony through my partner with Princess Kutt Entertainment.br /br /strongHas he served as a mentor, of sorts, to you?/strongbr /With J-Slimmm, we share ideas, for the most part we feed off each other. When we are around each other, we make magic and soon the world will hear it.br /br /strongAre you branching out into any other outlets?/strongbr /Yes, I have the entertainment company where we host events and do modeling. Next up, I am trying to host a cheerleading competition in the Baton Rogue area. Hopefully, this will happen in September, right before school starts back.div class=”blogger-post-footer”div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”
