Alongside Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti is considered to be one of the biggest mixtape rappers in the game. Collectively, the duo have appeared on close to a million mixtapes and have released hundreds. With a very deep catalog, both rappers are noted for their independent success and their major label partnerships.
Mixtapes have gained prominence in the rap game, but many still view the albums as being more important. While sometimes artists release albums on the same day, many wait out of respect. But, until 2009, mixtapes were just released. However, when CM7 by Yo Gotti came the same day as Gucci Mane’s Trap God, problems started.
Gucci Mane has been airing out everyone, primarily Young Jeezy and T.I. Yesterday, he would also call out Yo Gotti, Nicki Minaj, and French Montana. Even Nas has been among his targets. Yo Gotti called into K 97.1 and voiced his opinion on what his former friend had to say, more than anything, he was disappointed.
