After a bit of a hiatus, Waka Flocka Flame is returning to the music scene. The Atlanta emcee released Flockaveli, his debut album, in 2010, and he returned with his second album, Triple F Life, in 2012. Initially, Waka Flocka Flame planned to release Flockaveli 2 in 2013, but this release didn’t take place.
During this past spring, Waka Flocka Flame revealed his work with Steve Aoki. A few weeks later, Steve Aoki talked to Hip Hop Vibe’s DJ Louie Styles about his new music and his work with Waka Flocka Flame. Now, Waka Flocka Flame is serious about getting back into the new music and showed it yesterday.
Waka Flocka Flame is introducing his new music with the release of an upcoming mixtape, which is coming soon. This new mixtape is Salute Me or Shoot Me, Vol. 5 and it is the prequel to his upcoming releases. He took to his Instagram yesterday evening to release the official cover.
