Trapped In The Second Round: Twitter reacts to Chris Paul and the Clippers’ devastating game 7 loss to Rockets

Chris Paul game 7 lossEver since 2011, the Los Angeles Clippers have shed their reputation as laughingstocks of the NBA. A historically bad franchise, the Clippers gained their first star in Blake Griffin, when he was drafted in 2009. He didn’t take the court until 2010, immediately giving the Clippers publicity.

In 2011, the Los Angeles Clippers traded for Chris Paul and immediately became contenders. The pairing of Chris Paul and Blake Griffin works, as they are one of the best in the NBA. Each regular season, the Clippers have given the league 56 or 57 wins every season.

Chris Paul, a North Carolina native, wants more, however. During his time with the New Orleans Hornets, Paul once led the team to 56 wins, a division title, and within one win of the Western Conference Finals. This was impressive in his third year in the league, but seven more seasons have not shown any growth, but the Clippers looked like they had the Houston Rockets when they went up 3-1 on them.

Stealing home court advantage, without Chris Paul, in game one, the Clippers appeared ready to close Houston out in six games. They took care of business in their home games, but lost game five back in Houston, but it looked like they had the Rockets where they wanted them in their game six closeout. Instead, they blew a 19 point second half lead, losing and falling into a game seven where they lost.

The NBA fans on Twitter have had a lot to say about Chris Paul, as he loses again in the second round in the most-disappointing fashion.
