T.I. talks Pharrell, new album, features, Doe B’s death, and Drake with DJ Whoo Kid [AUDIO]

T.I. 5A few years have passed since the “king of the South” era in T.I.’s career, but he has proven he can still be viable in this current hip hop climate. After the back-to-back prison stints, a lot of fans counted T.I. out. But, T.I. delivered a strong album with the original Trouble Man album.

T.I. originally planned to do a sequel, but the album format changed when the label situation changed. After ten years with Atlantic Records, T.I. began searching for a bigger record deal and he was willing to wait to make it happen. During this time, T.I. reached a one-off deal with Epic and Columbia Records.

DJ Whoo Kid hosted T.I. on Shade 45 and they talked about all that has transpired over the past year. Sadly, weeks after announcing the Columbia Records deal, news broke about his artist, Doe B, dying. In the interview, T.I. talked about Pharrell working with him on the new album, Doe B dying, and Drake.
