Preemo’s “In the Mix” Top Five Songs of the Week (May 19 – May 25, 2013)

Preemo In the MixBy Preemo
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

It feels good to take a look around and then realize the movement of one’s own is the trendsetting movement. Top Five Songs of the Week from the Desert Storm Radio show, “In the Mix” via Hip Hop Vibe has gone on for some time now. Many others who now chronicle top songs of the week and it is good to double excel, just like ANTHM.

Hip hop has had a lot going on and this time, it was the death of Tim Dog, or a lack thereof, which led to a warrant for his arrest being issued. The United States was not the only source of action, however, as London’s own Drummer Rigby was murdered. Condolences go out to him and his family.

Three months deep into the Top Five Songs of the Week, all of the hottest new hip hop tracks from the biggest artists are covered. There are other lists circulating the internet that are similar, just remember the originators. Without any further ado, check out the list below and catch “In the Mix” on Desert Storm Radio and Radio Invasion.

Listen to “In the Mix’s” Top Five Songs of the Week below:

ScHoolboy Q – “Hell of a Night”

This is dope super dope! The summer sound that bumps in your car from the highly anticipated Schoolboy Q. With production from DJ Dahi this will be receiving serious spins this summer. It is shaping up to be another major summer for the Top Dawg Entertainment outfit.

Meek Mill – “Levels”
Owww! Meek Milly breaks down the game level by levels. I can’t help but think this is a sly blast at Cassidy but either way its a big track and Cardo weighs in with the soundtrack to Meek’s motion picture.

Harry Fraud ft. Max B, French Montana, and Daft Punk – “Been Around the Wave”
When Harry Fraud, Max B, French Montanna and Daft Punk are mentioned on the same record it has to be worth a look. This one has grown on me and I’m feeling this one! What do you think hot or not?

Joe Grind ft. Deon Nathan – “L’Oreal”

SN1’s Joe Grind is gearing up for the release of his new EP and the campaign started this week with an exclusive first play of the Preemo produced “L’Oreal” on BBC 1xtra’s Mista Jam show. With the emotional vocals from Deon Nathan setting the tone for this track, Joe deals with the subject eloquently.

Kola Mac – “Hell of a Price”
I am a big fan of Kola Mac right now and this new Heat doesn’t fail to deliver. Taken from Kola Mac’s Choppin Change II: AWS available for download via DatPiff. Stay tuned for the official re-release of Eat Or Don’t, Vol.2 with new bonus tracks next week and Eat Or Don’t Vol.3 this summer.
