Preemo In the MixBy Preemo
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

What a week it has been in hip hop, first off rest in peace to Chris Kelly of Kris Kross and check out the reflection on their career by Hip Hop Vibe. Death is a natural part of life, which goes on no matter what. In an effort to lighten the mood, another week in hip hop has gone by and it has been as exciting as any other.

Hopefully, listeners of DJ Clue’s Desert Storm Radio and DJ Symphony’s Radio Invasion had a chance to hear “In the Mix” for this week. Working as a DJ and having a rising radio show means A LOT of music gets played. There is so much talent leaking throughout the hip hop world, it becomes tough to select just five, but someone has to.

Back on Hip Hop Vibe for the “In the Mix” Top Five Songs of the Week, there were a lot of new songs. Ones that stuck out came from fan favorites, such as French Montana and Busta Rhymes. Without any further ado, the list of the top five favorite songs is below, along with a special surprise.

Listen to “In the Mix’s” Top Five Songs of the Week below:

Kola Mac ft. French Montana- “If You Want It”

The streets have got a new anthem for 2013, courtesy of Kola Mac and the Coke Boy! The West and East Coast collide as Kola Mac links up with French Montana. This collaborative effort is featured on Kola Mac’s Choppin Change II: AWS.

Busta Rhymes – “Twerk It”
Since joining YMCMB, Busta has gone on to prove why his longevity in the game is matched only by the G.O.A.T’s. Back with this club banger produced by Pharrell Williams, I wanna be in the club when this drops and just watch the women go CRAZY!

Mavado ft. Akon and Rick Ross – “Rise Up”

Akon blesses the chorus as only he can urging the people to rise up. With Mavado and the MMG Ceo and heavyweight spitter Ricky Rozay dropping bombs alongside Mavado. It’s only right DJ Khaled sets off proceedings declaring his official stamp “We The Best”!

Kola Mac- “Trouble”

The trouble sample rings in your ear before this behemoth of keys and drums kicks in. Kola Mac has broken Top 5 history has been broken this week with 2 tracks being featured from Kola Mac and I predict big things for this dope MC go get his new mixtape available now! Choppin Change II: AWS.

Chronik – “Deepest Darkest” [VIDEO]

Chronik gets a special video mention in this weeks Top Five for the simple reason that in terms of an artist going all out for a visual there is nothing more dope than the Slew Dem General reeling off his bars whilst sitting on top of a live alligator. Make sure you stay tuned for more from this Grime Veteran from London, UK.
